How to Splice a Power Adapter (Video)

This is a video tutorial demonstrating how to splice and solder RCA connectors to an AC adapter. It may seem trivial to most electronics hobbyists, but this is for those of you don’t regularly experiment with electronics.

Notes

  • Because the Nintendo DS charger is a light duty switching power supply, it will not likely work with a digital camera, contrary to what I suggested. But the car adapter, a linear supply, does work.
  • The battery pack I mentioned is 8 AA NiMH batteries, two parallel sets of 4 batteries in series for about 5300mAh. Sorry for any confusion.
  • Check out my article Adding batteries to your devices to understand why I do this.
  • This is my first published video tutorial.
  • I was sick while making this.
