Here’s my old (bad) art. Well, at least I’m not happy with it, but I decided to leave it up for those who might be interested in knowing where I started from in the world of digital arts.

Scars of Sin

Scars of Sin

(November 30, 2007)
One day I wondered what the scars of sin would look like in the physical sense. It was originally going to be a 2D digital image, but since I finished my character, I challenged myself to make an environment. I think this is the most dramatic thing I’ve done as far as provoking thought and feeling. Turned out better than expected with original textures and all.

Revzess LED

Revzess LED

(October 31, 2007)
Similar concept as “Fi Lament,” but different container. This was actually the original idea before “Fi Lament.”

Half Than Before

Half Than Before

(April 10, 2007)
My purpose for this piece was to show a simple story of past and present. Although I could’ve added a voyeur shot indicating someone was soon coming after him, I didn’t want to leave him without a future helping others through the same struggle which he currently has. I’m really happy with the way it turned out. Despite it not quite being what I pictured, many more elements were included than planned.

Fi Lament

Fi Lament

Yeah, I know it’s kinda weird, but I like it and hope you do too. This idea came together from a project I never really started and the obsession of light bulbs I had in my youth. I collected light bulbs and I still do to a degree. I like the special ones with certain inert gases and others with deformed filaments. Somehow or the other, this idea popped into my head, and I went with it. However, there was a better initial idea before this one, which I still plan to put into effect, but hopefully with a cartoon-like female character.

Migration

Migration

An attempt at a good desktop wallpaper. Originally wanted to do something interesting with the Windows XP logo, but couldn’t figure out what to do afterwards. Got to thinking about how the Mac OS will run on Pentium processors and can now run Windows. Also thought about how people worry about the potential increase in security threats the Mac OS might have to face. Then before I knew it, this happened. All vector with blending styles in Photoshop.

Cat Life

Cat Life

I guess my favorite tool is the pen tool. Anyway, I was trying to think of something funny, but still promoting a good Scriptural point. Started thinking of how rumors could get started. Needless to say I didn’t let this idea go too long undone. Anyone can make assumptions that may seem reasonable, but they still stand unproven without witness. The time it took to draw is not included.

Immodesty

Immodesty

Immodesty is one of my pet peeves so I thought I’d express it. I thought about this idea some time before I did it, and I wanted it like a comic style so I left it black and white for the most part (not to mention the outline took forever). I did something like this in the past, but it wasn’t near as good.

Hate Internet Ads

Hate Internet Ads

I don’t like most Internet ads, so I wanted to show it. I also don’t like false doctrine, so I wanted to show it with some Scripture. This might’ve been the first time I actually redrew a character and it come out better second time around.

Sissellena

Sissellena

An important character (sister of the main character) in my story that still hasn’t been introduced yet (both the story and the character within the story). Drawn first, then outlined with vectors in Photoshop (outlining is about half the work). This took me about 8.5 hours. Unfortunately the time doesn’t include how long it took me to draw, since I started in a vehicle, continued in a restaurant, and finished at home. It came out better than I hoped, especially the captioning.

Eye

Eye

Another work promoting God’s Bible concerning the eyes. I felt as if I weren’t performing the best I could do so I did this from scratch to reassure myself. Now if only I could include this much detail in my other work.

Run

Run

I actually had no reference at all when I did this. I just clicked on the pen tool and started doodling so it came out different than my traditional work. Playing with the filters I got the condensation effect without a tutorial. Wasn’t looking for anything particular, just a filler, but it came out looking like a Gatorade commercial.

Shhh

Shhh

I did this for another t-shirt design promoting the Bible and its lessons on the tongue. This time I decided to skip the outline to see what I could do.

Spyro

Spyro

I’ve always been a Spyro fan, except the New Beginning series. I like Spyro up to the point of A Hero’s Tail, but Enter the Dragonfly is just sorry. I modeled this before I even knew UV mapping.

Annabelle

Annabelle

This is so old, it’s scary.

Tabbathanas

Tabbathanas

I drew this two years ago as an assignment for Spanish class when I was still in high school. I wanted to experiment with fur for the first real time but I didn’t want to use anything that I had done recently so this is what I dug up. It came out better than I expected. The moon was made from scratch. I know its out of proportion, but I wanted it that way.
